Drive & Handling
The SLC 300 includes a zippy 241-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, and a 9-speed automatic with paddle shifters includes shorter steps between gears for improved torque. It's also lighter, quicker and more efficient than ever before with DYNAMIC SELECT and adjustable modes for every mood, from ECO to Sport+. The engine in the premium 2020 AMG SLC 43 has more horsepower, increasing to 385 hp and a turbo 3.0-liter V6.
A reinforced body, dual roll bars made from fiber-reinforced micro-alloy high-strength steel, and standard world-class safety are part of the SLC Roadster DNA. Advanced sensors keep you informed about potential hazards, optional Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC® cruise control eases driver fatigue, and Active Brake Assist can help reduce collisions by monitoring traffic in front of you.
To enhance the driving experience, standard Torque Vectoring Brake technology provides additional control and precision via targeted rear-wheel braking. While cornering, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) system looks for understeer and applies the brake to the inside rear wheel. This process shifts torque distribution temporarily, compensating and gently keeping your vehicle in line, as well as keeping you safer.

Mercedes-Benz is up to date with the latest driver-assist technology, including ATTENTION ASSIST®, the first system of its kind. ATTENTION ASSIST is your safety guardian when on the road and monitors your driving behavior. If it detects signs of driver fatigue behind the wheel, like a change in steering behaviors and tactical errors based on your normal behaviors, it issues an alert. This groundbreaking system monitors up to 70 driving parameters, measured on the patterns of the drivers themselves.
Protect your head with NECK-PRO
For the SLC Roadster, Mercedes-Benz includes NECK-PRO head restraints that move forward and upward in the case of a rear impact. When the vehicle detects the crash will exceed a preset threshold, it reduces the distance between the head restraints and your head as well as the head of your passenger, reducing the possibility or severity of neck injuries like whiplash.
