2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS: A True Electric Luxury Experience
Many automakers are focusing their efforts on crafting electric cars aimed at the future of automotive technology. However, many of them fall short in some aspects. If you want luxury, performance, and a true electric driving experience, it’s worth it to wait for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS. Details about this amazing model have started to trickle in and the images alone have the Mercedes-Benz of Owings Mills team excited for the sustainable future of Mercedes-Benz.
Mercedes me Charge
One of the biggest aspects of owning an electric model is—of course—charging. If you are tapping into many charging systems available, it can be hard to know the source of the power. When EQS owners utilize the Mercedes me Charge system, 100 percent of the energy used to charge your vehicle comes from renewable resources. That means driving your EQS can drastically reduce your carbon footprint. What’s more? For the first three years of ownership, drivers can access Green Charging at no cost. That’s right, you could access free, renewably sourced charging for three years.
Manufacturing Sustainably
The new EQS will be produced at Factory 56, one of the most advanced production facilities ever created. Equipped with 12,000 solar panels, 30 percent of the facility's power demand is supplied by renewable resources. Thanks to solar technology and other initiatives, Factory 56 is on track to become a zero-carbon factory. Reduced energy requirements, recycled materials, and sustainable battery production have all been implemented to make this possible.
Luxury, Reimagined
Mercedes-Benz has painstakingly created the EQS with sustainability in mind from start to finish, but that doesn’t mean the luxury that the brand is known for has fallen to the wayside. Inside the EQS, recycled materials like ECONYL® floor coverings, and sustainably produced aluminum make this electric sedan a leader in eco-friendly production. Performance hasn’t been forgotten either.
While the power figures haven’t been released yet, we do know that Mercedes-Benz has designed the EQS to be the most aerodynamic production car in the world. In performance terms as well as efficiency, that means less power is needed to propel the EQS forward, into the sustainable future that Mercedes-Benz has set out to create for the automotive industry.
