Our Donations Make a Local Impact
The funds raised by MileOne stay within our communities in one of four ways: transportation, local research, lodging for cancer patients and event sponsorships designed to spread the word.
Travel to Treatment with MileOne
In 2018, MileOne began funding supplemental transportation as part of the American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery program in Baltimore, MD and Hampton Roads, VA. This program provides transportation to and from treatment for cancer patients at no cost to them. In 2019, MileOne provided 7,999 rides to 1,554 people. Last year, we provided nearly $275,000 towards the program and were able to provide 2,200 rides to patients until the program came to a halt due to the global pandemic. We plan to continue supporting this important initiative in 2021 as it relaunches with the remaining funds donated from 2020 as well as a portion of our funds raised this year.
Lodging for Cancer Patients
For many, world class treatment is often far from home and the logistics of finding a place to stay while receiving this treatment can be stressful. Hope Lodge, a housing facility in downtown Baltimore, provides free temporary housing for those undergoing cancer treatments who live far from their treatment facility. MileOne not only donates money to help with renovations and amenities while also transporting patients to and from their treatment at Baltimore area medical facilities. MileOne employees also can be seen rolling up their sleeves and donating their time to host monthly dinners for the residents of Hope Lodge.

Local Research
MileOne Autogroup is fighting for a world without cancer. Our funds support research efforts for combatting various types of cancer at local hospitals and universities throughout Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Virginia. This year's local research grants include research projects for bladder, brain, breast, cervical, colon, esophageal, lung, pancreatic, pediatric, prostate cancer and more.

Plus, don’t forget: We’re raffling off a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250! Tickets can be purchased at local ACS events or in-store at Mercedes-Benz of Owings Mills for $10 through Tuesday, November 30th.
