Will Fully Automated and Driverless Cars Be Here Soon?

Mercedes-Benz and Bosch team up to bring autonomous vehicles to the road

With its advancements in autonomous driving technologies, it's clear that Mercedes-Benz is looking forward to the future of automobiles, where being chauffeured to your destination will no doubt consist of little more than entering an address in your vehicle's GPS.

Mercedes-Benz's parent company, Daimler, has recently partnered with Bosch, one of the world's largest suppliers of automotive parts, in order to make fully autonomous cars a "reality on city streets" by the start of the next decade. By taking the vehicle expertise of Daimler and pairing it with the hardware expertise of Bosch, the companies say driverless vehicles will frequent roads sooner rather than later.

After all, a car that drives itself can't get distracted or sleepy, it doesn't get frustrated when the driver ahead fails to signal or cuts it off, and who hasn't daydreamed about reading a book (or browsing through your phone) while on the morning commute?

Partially self-driving technologies are making their presence known in the current Mercedes-Benz lineup—look no further than the 2017 E-Class for example, with features like Drive Pilot, Evasive Steering Assist, Side Radar, and more—and we look forward to their appearance in every Mercedes-Benz vehicle. The F 015 Luxury in Motion Concept Car also shows a visionary take on the future of driving, but in the meantime, don't hesitate to call, contact us online, or stop by and see us in person at 9727 Reisterstown Rd, Owings Mills, MD 21117 to shop our extensive lineup of luxury automobiles that are filled with forward-thinking technologies.
